Two for One

I've spent a little more time attacking my stash of unfinished class projects from waaaayyy back! I came across 6 sets of cut cardstock and knew right away what I wanted to do with them. The colors were muted and the size looked like it would work with the Holy Triptych set. Oh, they turned out so lovely! And I'm soooo happy with them! But I only made 5 of them. I kept back one of the sets to use another stamp set. You'll have to keep reading to see what I did. I think it's worth the time 'cuz it's purty!!
Here's the first card. In case you can't tell from the picture, the layer under the focal image is True Thyme. Remember that color? I just loved it with Brocade Blue, and here's proof that it was a color combo I enjoyed putting together!
Stamps: Holy Triptych, Teeny Tiny Wishes
Cardstock: Sahara Sand, Brocade Blue, True Thyme, and Confetti White
Ink: Stazon Jet Black, True Thyme, Chocolate Chip, Brocade Blue, Blush Blossom, and So Saffron
Accessories: AquaPainter, Big Shot with Perfect Details Texturz Plate, Crop-a-dile, White Eyelets, Champagne Mist Shimmer Paint, and Dimensionals
I hope you can see how great the Shimmer Paint works on this card! It's just a very soft shimmer to enhance, not knock your socks off! This is the first time I actually painted with the Shimmer Paint. So far I've sponged it on the cardstock, sponged it on the stamp, spritzed it on the cardstock in a mixture of rubbing alcohol and Shimmer Paint, and now painted it directly on the card. It's amazing just what can be accomplished with that little bottle of paint!!!! It's quickly turning out to be my new favorite accessory! If you haven't used this yet, you don't know what you're missing, and you need to get some right away!
Now on to the last card I made. When I first saw our catalog, one of the first sets I wanted was Herb Expressions, but there seemed to be other things that I just had to order first - like new In Colors, holiday sets for class use and demoing, etc. etc. Well, I finally got the set. Yeah! And it's everything I thought it would be and more! I just love the images and the sentiments are so sweet I could just yum 'em up! Anyway, here's the card using the same basic materials with just a few tweaks.
There's a little image stamping on the background with Sahara Sand - very subtle. I changed the eyelets to a white taffeta ribbon, and sponged around the image layer with Brocade Blue ink. Truthfully, I don't know what color Rosemary flowers are, but here they're blue. I might need to google that and find out for the next time I use this set. And I definitely need to make more time to play with the rest of the images in this set. The artwork on this set is really gorgeous, and I'm sure I'll be reaching for this set often in the future!
Oh my goodness, I just realized I didn't use any DSP on these cards! How could that happen? Oh, I feel withdrawal symptoms coming on.... It's calling out to me... Got to have my Designer Paper fix for the day.........
Hope you enjoy your day!
Sharon
