Is Soft Suede the New Black?

A couple of days ago, I swung by Gretchen Barron's website to check out her latest challenge sketch. She always has nice sketches and I needed something to get me going again. I liked the looks of it, but was just too tired to manage it at the time. After thinking about it a couple days, I came up with an idea I wanted to try. Not too sure what you'll think of this one 'cuz the colors aren't what you'd expect. Give me a holler and tell me if it works or not.
This is it! Tell me, tell me! Does it work or was it a crazy idea?
Stamps: Punch Pals
Cardstock: Kraft, Whisper White, and Soft Suede with Christmas Cocoa Specialty Designer Series Paper
Ink: Stazon Jet Black and Soft Suede pads, and Real Red, Old Olive, Pumpkin Pie, and Soft Suede Markers
Accessories: Big Shot with SU! Backgrounds Texturz Plates, Soft Suede Polka Dotted Ribbon, AquaPainter, and Dimensionals
I really love the color you get when you watercolor with Soft Suede ink. It's so yummy and warm - just like cocoa! So then, what could be better for a wintery Christmas card? I asked my hubby about the color for a Christmas card, and he thought it looked 'all right'. I guess it's ok then if he says so! Normally he doesn't say too much about my cards one way or the other. So I have to be happy when I get any kind of a compliment like 'all right'. lol
Still snifflin' and coughin',
Sharon

It's adorable, Sharon. I really like the color combo. It sounds like your hubby give you the same comments that mine give me about my cards. :)

It totally works... especially here in So Cal where we don't get snow and with the water shortage everything is turning brown. Why not have brown snowflakes and brown snowmen??!! I love it!!!

Hi Sharon -- it's not crazy at all -- this is a beautiful card. I love the color combination! Thanks for playing along with last week's sketch challenge on Inspiration in Action. I hope you're able to play again soon! Blessings -- Gretchen -- www.gretchenbarron.typepad.com
